May 17, 2023: The bill would authorize Medicare Part D reimbursements to pharmacists for disease prevention and management services that have shown to be cost-effective in the long run by reducing ER visits and hospital stays. Under the bill, a pharmacist would be reimbursed at a rate equal to what Medicare would have paid if the services had been provided by a physician.
